What is Kognitio?

Kognitio offers scale-out, in-memory software for big data analytics. Kognitio aims to provide an ultra-fast, high concurrency SQL layer that allows modern data visualization tools to maintain interactive performance, even when the data volume is large and the user count high. Kognitio is fully integrated with YARN on Hadoop or can be installed on standalone hardware infrastructure. It also supports sophisticated NoSQL capabilities enabling scale-out advanced analytics alongside the ultra-fast, fully functional SQL.

Kognitio is one of the tools that can help you address big data analytics issues. We ran out of ideas on how can we implement seamless analytics on our existing data storage as the technology trends are moving faster, then we found out that there is a solution that Kognitio we need to solve our big analytical problems.

What I like most is the IN Memory capability it is doing, as we all know RAM is faster than disk. The capability to connect different databases. Beginners should also take note of the Data Disk Management because anytime it could go wrong, you should have experience in dealing with this kind of event.

We selected Kognitio because of the legacy systems that are still running. Also, we have legacy systems in place that are fit for Kognitio. End-user has good feedback on our side when we started implementing this solution. Current servers are compatible with Kognitio in place.
